the best things in life are free

Mom_2

From my seven year old, Max, for Mother's Day.

Mom,

Your heart shines like the sun. Thank you for taking care of me. You are as colorful as the earth. Your eyes ar as shiny as the stars. You are as bright as the sunlight. You are as fast as a meteor. You are as lovely as the moon. You are the best mom in the solar system. I love you!

It's been a while since anyone (movies not counting) has made me cry, but I cried when I read this. It's just so sweet and thoughtful! I'm home with my two sick kids today :-(.

Crybaby

Junoposter2007Okay, I need a little validation here. Did anyone else cry while watching Juno? Mr. T made fun of me because I did and he has a hard time believing anyone other than a hormonal, pregnant person would cry during this movie. We both enjoyed the movie a lot and thought it was funny, but I also felt it was very touching and my tears just started rolling during the scene where Juno was talking to her dad about love.  Yes, it took several hugs from H&M along with a few dirty looks @ their dad before I felt any better -- and no the kids did NOT watch the movie with us. I just don't think it matters what age you are when you become a mother. Being pregnant is such an emotional process that the thought of birthing a human being and then not being able to be a part of it's life afterwards just made me really sad.

Speaking of pregnancies, I can't wait till mine is over with. I am getting huge and comfortable and sore everywhere. To add to my misery, I'm starting to nest and I have my eyes set on a lot of new stuff. I really shouldn't be buying so many big ticket items considering that I'll be out of work for 3 months, but I just can't help being so unsatisfied with my filthy 7 year-old sofa set and uncomfortable bed :-/.

On the photography front, my computer has been fixed, but Mr. T did a switch-a-roo and installed windows vista instead of xp and for the life of me, I can't figure how to reinstall my actions on vista. I'm so peeved but haven't had the time or motivation to read up on how to do this, so if any of you have a quick link on this subject for PSE 5, please let me know. Otherwise, if you're waiting for pictures from me, it will be quite a few more months and you can thank my husband or give him the dirty eye for me too.

Well, I'm sure I won't be posting again for a few more weeks, so Happy Mother's Day to all the wonderful moms out there! My sisters/SILS and I are taking my mom to the casino for a girls night out :-). Wish us luck!

My wish for you...

Tony_3Happy Birthday to my Mr. T!

This year I decided to give him the gift of "health." After nagging him for the last 11 years about getting his annual check up, I went ahead and scheduled an appointment for him with our family doctor. He really didn't have a choice but to go in or lose $200 bucks, so he dragged himself into the dr's office on Wednesday. In honor of his birthday today, we both went in for some blood work--so romantic I know. Of course, his procedure took all of 3 minutes while mine took 3 hours (extended glucose test). I told him if I'm going to have three of his children for him, he needs to be healthy enough to be around and help me raise all of them and he agrees.

So here's to my hon -- may he continue to have a long and prosperous life with me and our kids. I know I couldn't have asked for a more patient, generous and dedicated life partner.

update

Banner2I know I've been really bad with the updates, but my main home computer has a nasty spyware/virus on it. Mr. T is in the process of reformatting the entire hard drive which means I can't post any pictures until he's done and unfortunately, he's out of town on a business trip right now.

Other than that we are all doing well. We took the kids to see The Forbidden Kingdom on Saturday and they loved it! They want to go back and see it again. The movie was perfect -- lots of action which kept all of us entertained. I especially like that the movie required very minimal thinking on my part (pregnancy brains are doing me in), and like all recent Chinese movies, the cinematography was beautiful.

Baby Update - I only have 11 weeks left to go (hopefully less) and have gained 21.5 lbs so far. We been getting some super hot (80+) days followed by late spring snow storms and I still can't decide which one is the lesser of the two evils. I prefer nice breezy 60-70 degree weather like today, but I'm sure that's not going to last until the end of June.

Happy Monday everyone and hopefully, I'll be back to posting pictures by the end of this week including an updated photo of my ever-growing belly :-).

Home Stretch

0065458230015_av_500x500

I just ordered this crib for Baby M. It's a 4-in-1 crib and it received pretty decent ratings for the price (less than $150). I was initially hesistant about buying from Walmart.com, but I gotta say they have the lowest prices and it's the same exact brand as Target and Babies R Us. Plus you get free shipping if you ship it to their stores.  The matching dresser is out of stock right now so we'll get that when it becomes available.

So I'm always confused about when the 3rd trimeseter really starts (is it 27 or 28 weeks), but regardless, I'm considering yesterday as the official start of my last trimester cause I only 3 more months left to go! So at 27 weeks, I'm still holding steady at 20lbs of weight gain even though Mr. T thinks my belly resembles a beach ball already.  I like to think I'm still at the basketball stage, but beach ball is probably pretty accurate too. I can't wait to meet Baby M!
